Nestled between Monroe, Duvall, and Cottage Lake, just off W Snoqualmie Valley Rd NE and near Woodinville-Duvall Rd,  our magical forest school is a 4-hour early childhood education program immersing children in nature, where they explore, play, and grow in a sensory-rich environment.

Led by Kimberlee Kelly, Ma.Ed, this forest enrichment program emphasizes a child-led, inquiry-based approach to early childhood education. At Little Fern Forest, families find their village. Our team includes a neurodivergent lead teacher with a master’s in education, teachers, occupational therapists, and parents and loved ones who volunteer. Together, we support each child as they navigate their own winding trails through their personal developmental forest, growing and discovering themselves and the world at their own pace and in their own way.

Children thrive in our dynamic outdoor space, which includes 15 acres of towering trees, mossy trails, and a seasonal creek that winds quietly through our welcoming woods. Our programs are open year-round, with a cozy 18-foot bell tent, loose parts play areas, and natural spaces where children climb, build, splash, and grow in confidence, connection, and self-awareness. Through exploration at every stage, we foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing, nature-filled space for children of all neurotypes: neurotypical and neurodivergent.

What Makes the Woodinville Location magical?

  • Forest Playground: Children explore a 15 acre old growth forest with a small seasonal creek and sensory equipment, offering hands-on learning with nature.

  • Sensory Tent: A calming 18-foot sensory tent for children who need a quiet retreat, a break from the weather, or extra sensory support.

  • Field Trips: Drop off field trips to the local libraries, farms, parks, rivers and lakes.

  • Child-Led Learning: Rooted in the Cedarsong Way, our program lets children lead their own learning, fostering curiosity and growth.

  • Expert Staff: Led by Kimberlee Kelly, a credentialed educator, assisted by therapy-informed professionals to help support a developmentally inclusive environment.

  • Community Focus: Small, mixed-age classes of mixed-neurotype children create a nurturing environment where empathy and social-emotional learning thrive.

Early Childhood Education Focus Areas:

  • Social-Emotional Development

  • Sensory Integration

  • Early Literacy & Motor Skills

  • Environmental Stewardship
