2025-2026 Forest School Year in Woodinville

Ages 18 months - 7 years*

Book a tour of our new Woodinville location here!

Located in Cottage Lake, Woodinville, Little Fern Forest’s Forest Preschool immerses children in nature, where they explore, play, and grow in a sensory-rich environment. Led by Kimberlee Kelly, a credentialed educator with Director-level certification in Early Care and Education and a Master’s degree in Social Justice-centered Education (Ma.Ed), the program emphasizes a child-led, inquiry-based approach to learning.

Children thrive in our dynamic outdoor classroom, which includes a forested area, a natural creek, and a sensory tent. Through exploration at every stage, we foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing, nature-filled space.

What Makes the Woodinville Location magical?

  • Forest Playground: Children explore a residential forest with a creek and sensory equipment, offering hands-on learning with nature.

  • Sensory Tent: A calming 18-foot sensory tent for children who need a quiet retreat or extra sensory support.

  • Nearby Trails, Parks & Lakes: Walking trips to local parks and lakes provide additional opportunities for exploration.

  • Child-Led Learning: Rooted in the Cedarsong Way, our program lets children lead their own learning, fostering curiosity and growth.

  • Expert Staff: Led by Kimberlee Kelly, a credentialed educator, and supported by therapy professionals to meet each child’s needs.

  • Community Focus: Small, mixed-age classes create a nurturing environment where empathy and social-emotional learning thrive.

Educational Focus Areas:

  • Social-Emotional Development
