Frequently Asked Questions
  • We currently accept the following plans for formal occupational therapy services:

    • Premera Blue Cross

    • First Choice Health (including some plans through Kaiser Permanente and Aetna)

    • Apple Health (Medicaid) plans

    • Cigna

    • Molina Healthcare

    • TRICARE

    • Regence BlueShield

    Insurance coverage varies by plan. We encourage families to contact their insurance provider directly to confirm copays, deductibles, and any pre-authorization requirements. We’re happy to help clarify as we’re able.

  • No, only our in-house licensed occupational therapists (OTR/L and COTA) are covered by insurance.

     

    Although we partner with other therapists and service providers in the community, such as Physical Therapists, Speech Language Pathologists, additional OTs, and even swim instructors. Their services are arranged directly with them, though some may offer sessions on-site at our locations to make access easier for families.

  • Even if your insurance isn’t listed, private pay is always an option. We can also help you explore out-of-network benefits or other ways to make services work for your family.  If you’d like to explore what might be possible, please email Emily at EmilyBryce@LittleFernForest.com.   • No, forest school and summer camp fees are billed separately from occupational therapy services and are not covered by insurance. We do offer adjustments on therapy days to help make it more financially accessible for families who want their children to enjoy both therapy and forest school and camp experiences.

  • For families receiving formal occupational therapy, we adjust forest school fees on days your child attends therapy. This helps children access both therapy and the nature-based, child-led learning of forest school.

  • We believe access matters. As funding allows, we may offer limited need-based scholarships and, in select cases, approved service exchange arrangements. All assistance is considered case by case, is not guaranteed, and must be agreed to in writing before participation begins.     • Embedded OT-informed pedagogy: integrated into daily forest school experiences for all children

    • Formal occupational therapy services: private pay or insurance billed services provided by licensed OTR/L and COTA, one-on-one or in small groups, and available during forest school, in the community, or in your home
