Nestled between Monroe, Duvall, and Cottage Lake, just off W Snoqualmie Valley Rd NE and near Woodinville-Duvall Rd, our magical forest school is a 4-hour enrichment program immersing children in nature, where they explore, play, and grow in a sensory-rich environment.
Led by Kimberlee Kelly, M.A.Ed, we take a child-led, inquiry-based approach to early childhood education. At Little Fern Forest, families find their village. Our team includes forest teachers, occupational therapists, and parent volunteers. Together, we support each child as they navigate their own path, growing and discovering themselves and the world at their own pace and in their own way.
Children thrive in our dynamic nature-immersed space, which includes 15 acres of towering trees, mossy trails, and a seasonal creek. Our cozy 18-foot bell tent is set among our loose parts play areas, and natural spaces where children climb, build, splash, and grow in confidence, connection, and self-awareness. Through exploration at every stage, we foster social, emotional, and cognitive development in a nurturing, nature-filled space for children of all neurotypes: neurotypical and neurodivergent.

Ages 30 months - 6 years*
September through May
Tucked away on a NEW beautiful almost 5-acre forest property in Jefferson Beach, our program invites children to explore and grow through all seasons. Our space includes a sensory playground, dirt pit, mud kitchen, hammock pavilion, marsh, and more! We also enjoy regular neighborhood excursions to the beach, local horse sanctuary, and green spaces—fostering deep roots in the local ecosystem.
We follow the Cedarsong Way philosophy, grounded in nature-immersion, play-based learning, and neuro-affirming support. With an occupational therapy lens throughout and formal OT offered embedded during the school day, our approach honors each child’s individual needs, rhythms, and interests—meeting them where they are and guiding them in what they need to thrive.
We foster sensory integration, social-emotional learning, flexibility, problem-solving, and a deeply curious relationship with the flora, fauna, and environment that surrounds us.
We are proudly neurodiversity-affirming and welcome children of all neurotypes. Potty training is not required, and formal occupational therapy is available (most insurance accepted).
*Lead Teacher may choose to accept children older based on birth date.
